Duncan Hunter compares Iraq to WWII

In his zeal to support of the troop surge, Duncan Hunter tries to link congressional oversight of Iraq to a hypothetical situation where the the Invasion of Normandy could have been undermined by congressional debate. Of course, this debate never happened because, unlike Iraq, the US had actually declared war on Nazi Germany, and of course that war had popular support. The United States spent less time fighting Japan and Germany than we have occupying and destroying Iraq.
